Nook Paleo Restaurant
A new paleo-inspired restaurant recently hit our city, and I want to tell everyone I know about it. While restaurants are getting better all the time with accommodating food allergies, intolerances, and preferences, it can still be tricky to eat quality, healthy food out. Another perk? The menu also includes vegan offerings, Whole30 options, and keto suggestions.
Nook is a chic casual diner with wood, black and white, and hints of red decor. Connected to the Hampton Inn, the space used to be a steakhouse.
Adam and I went to Nook on its opening night, and have since returned. Everything is made from scratch in their kitchen, and you can taste it.
I was really excited about the paleo pizza options and paleo bacon, chips, and guacamole. Both did not disappoint.
My favorite item on the menu is the broth bowl. You can order it with or without chicken. The fennel is what really makes this dish!
My second favorite item on the menu is the energize power bowl: romaine, arugula, sweet potatoes, carrots, pumpkin seeds, and free-range roasted chicken. I added leftover guacamole to mine and enjoyed it without the vinegar and olive oil.
When I review places and things, I try to be honest, objective, and constructive–offering the highlights and things to consider.
Highlights: The delicious menu items and plethora of choices. Friendly and accommodating staff. And the broth bowl!
Things to Consider: Eating healthy is not cheap, and the bill might be larger than you’re used to spending (and maybe our eyes were just bigger than our stomachs, so we ordered more). The avocado key lime pie tasted like a little too much avocado and not enough pie–all of the desserts are probably not as sweet as you’re used to.
Let me know if you give Nook a try, and what you ordered!
Love, Ali xo
